Entertainment gets better and better for Donegal Live promotion

As plans for the Donegal Live promotion event fall into place, the entertainment line up is getting better by the day.  Live music, song and dance are the order of the day from 12noon – 6pm in Meeting House Square Temple Bar on Sunday 16th May.

Artists performing on the day include Altan, Máire Brennan, The Plea, The Henry Girls, Donegal Tenors, Donegal Youth Orchestra, Aoife Ni Fhearraigh, Marie MacCumhaill, The Roots Orchestra, An Crannóg, Fidil, and Aine O Doherty & Friends.  These are just a sample of the Donegal talent performing on the main stage.

Curved street will be transformed into a sea of green and gold with Donegal Tourism promoters and lots of impromptu comhaltas music to entertain our visitors.  Little John will perform sections of his street theatre show throughout Temple Bar.  There is an indoor display of Donegal art & sculpture complimented with Donegal artists performing extracts from the Brian Friel collection including Philadelphia Here I Come and The Faith Healer.

A fantastic day for all the family is guaranteed to showcase County Donegal and all it has to offer throughout Temple Bar.  The day opens with a real “Dancing at Lunasa” theme, a céilí mór, and step dancing at 12noon in Meeting House Square.  Mullaghduff marching band will set the tone with a lively performance at the Central Bank Plaza on Dame Street before marching to Temple Bar with true Donegal music rendered en route.

There are some fantastic prizes to be won on the day.  John McGinley coaches are giving 1,000 return bus tickets, Aer Arann and Donegal airport are giving away a number of flights, various hotels in the county and a number of self catering accommodation providers are giving mid week and weekend breaks and these will be packaged with the various activities being sponsored by the participating tourism providers.

Everyone is asked to promote the event to their family and friends in Dublin and the East Coast region and encourage them to in turn bring their neighbours, friends and colleagues along on the day to sample the quality events, attractions, activities and accommodation options the county has to offer.
